Dear Advisors, Delegates, and Visitors,

It is my honor to invite you to the Inaugural Session of Champlain Valley Model United Nations (CVMUN), taking place on December 4–5 at SUNY Plattsburgh.

CVMUN was created with a simple but ambitious mission: to expand Model UN opportunities in the North Country and to ensure that every student, regardless of their school, experience level, or background, has access to a space where they can think critically, speak confidently, and lead with purpose. As global challenges grow increasingly complex, we believe that Model UN remains one of the most powerful tools for helping students build diplomacy, awareness, and civic engagement.

This year, our Secretariat has developed a set of dynamic and thoughtful committees, each crafted to immerse delegates in the most pressing issues of our time. Our staff has spent months designing simulations that push students to research deeply, collaborate effectively, and engage with the world in new and meaningful ways.

What makes Model UN so special is its ability to empower students. It asks them to grapple with nuanced problems, to advocate for ideas bigger than themselves, and to discover confidence in their own voice. Whether CVMUN is your first conference or the latest chapter in your MUN journey, we hope this inaugural session provides a space where you feel challenged and inspired.

As we launch this conference, we are committed not only to a successful weekend but to building a sustainable, accessible, and community-driven MUN program for years to come. CVMUN represents the beginning of a tradition; one we hope will continue to grow and serve thousands of students in the North Country and beyond.

It is a true privilege to lead this organization through its first year, and I am excited to work alongside our team to make CVMUN as educational, engaging, and unforgettable as possible. Thank you for supporting this new conference and the students who will grow through it.
